About Pastor Brian Puckett
The Full Story
Brian M. Puckett was born in Paris, TN, on July 1, 1974, to James Puckett and Carolyn McCutcheon. He graduated from Henry County High School in 1992. Upon graduating high school, he furthered his education at Tennessee State University in Nashville, TN. He received a Bachelor of Arts Degree with a concentration in Speech Communications. While attending TSU, he marched in the world renowned Marching Aristocrats of Bands as a saxophonist upon which he performed for the Presidential Inauguration of Bill Clinton. Along with being a member of this famous marching band, he was also a distinguished member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Incorporated where he was noted for his outstanding community service. Brian Puckett graduated from TSU being inducted to the Who’s Who for Academics. A couple of years after graduating college, Brian Puckett was feeling a deeper calling upon his life. On a cold day in February 2000, he acknowledged that GOD had called him in to the ministry to be a teacher/preacher of the Word of GOD. Brian Puckett was baptized at Greater Saint John Missionary Baptist Church, where he also became an associate minister and young prodigy of Pastor Herbert T. Brown. Pastor Brown tutored Minister Puckett in many aspects of ministerial preaching and leadership. While attending Greater Saint John, GOD elevated Brian to becoming the Youth Minister and Superintendent of Sunday Schools. In 2006, under direction of the Holy Spirit, Brian Puckett entered into the United States Navy where he became a Logistics Specialist on Naval Station Norfolk’s Base in Norfolk, Virginia. Minister Puckett has served in the Middle East in the country of Bahrain during Operation Iraqi Freedom; served on the USNS Comfort in Haiti and South America for Operation Continuing Promise 2009; served on the USS Carl Vinson and the USS Bataan from January thru March 2010 for Operation Unified Response in the country of Haiti where he received an award for Humanitarian Service; and he also served on the USS George H. W. Bush (CVN 77). The reason that it is stated that he was led by the Holy Spirit into the Navy is because he served as the Interim Pastor of Mount Olive Baptist Church in Virginia Beach from 2011 to 2013, where his service to the Body of Christ and to GOD was and still is faithful. The Holy Spirit has also directed Brian into furthering his education even more by receiving his Masters of Theology from Saint Leo University in December 2017. The Holy Spirit also directed him on April 2014 (Easter Day) to create a podcast called “Conquerors Radio with BP.” This podcast carries the motto of “Ministering the Word of GOD to a Hip Hop generation.” A lot of what has been accomplished would not be possible if it had not been for the love of Jesus Christ, but GOD had also saw fit that HIS servant should have a helpmate that will be with him through the good and the bad. On August 5, 2006, Brian Puckett and Valencia Majors said “I do!” as they both were joined in Holy Matrimony under the sight of GOD. They both served in the military and have two wonderful girls; Valecia and Kennedy, and a son; Brian Samuel. One of his most inspiring Scriptures is Romans 8:37, “Yet on all these things we are more than conquerors through HIM who loved us.” In saying that, he keeps his motto close to heart; “Soldier for Christ. Soldier for family. Soldier for life. Soldier for eternity!” On December of 2018, Rev. Puckett was called to serve as the Senior Pastor of First Missionary Baptist Church-Pulaski. At FMBC.P he with the aid of his daughter, Valecia, and faithful youth ministry leaders, reignited the youth ministry at FMBC.P and called it C.I.A (Christ in Action). He has also given the Men’s Ministry a new identity; MoMENtum Men’s Ministry. The Lord moved inside of Pastor Puckett to create an alliance of ministers regardless of denomination, titled the M.A.P (Ministers Alliance of Pulaski). Pastor Puckett also serves in the capacity of Moderator of the Greater Richland Creek Missionary Baptist Association. The work hasn’t stopped; he continues as he serves GOD’S people through preaching, teaching, serving and visiting. He has added the motto for the mission of First Missionary Baptist Church-Pulaski as “More than Church, more than community, more than Conquerors through Christ!”
